“It’s a beautiful thing when a career and a passion come together” …I read that once and am lucky enough to say I am living those words. Over the past 6 years since I graduated college my life has had it’s up’s and down’s and the photographer and person that I was 6yrs ago is lightyears away from who I have become today as an individual and as a business owner. I’ve traveled across the world, purchased a home, and I can now add being my own full-time boss to the list.
Today I’m saying goodbye to a company that I never in a million years would have thought I’d have had the pleasure of working for. A household name around the world, Hasbro Toys. For the past four years I’ve gotten to know Hasbro as a company and have made a Hasbro family of my own. I’ve not only enjoyed working for them as a company but have gained more than a handful of my best friends that have become irreplaceable.

But today I am joining the ranks of the full-time business owners! Something that I once thought was a far off pipe dream has become my reality. Stephanie Vegliante Photography has tripled it’s business since 2016 giving me the freedom and luxury of becoming my own full-time boss where I am able to do something that I love every single day.

Without my friends, family and all of my clients, I would never have been able to accomplish this major jump. To some, their business/career is just a job, but to me photography and my business have become and integral part of who I am and something I strive to improve on every single day. Talking with brides about the most exciting day of their lives, giving them ideas, helping them find the best fit and seeing them beam as they marry the loves of their life is something you can’t put a price on. Meeting a newborn just days after they are born and being trusted to capture them as perfectly as their parents see them is nothing short of an honor (even if I sometimes have to remind myself to take deep breaths).

I can’t express how thankful I am to each and every person that has encouraged, helped, guided, and also tolerated me on those crazy days when I have wanted to rip my hair out, scream, and throw my camera out the window. Never once have I thought to myself “I no longer want to do this” despite how busy and hectic my life has gotten with forty hour corporate work weeks in addition to my personal work. The slew of 5 months straight without a single day off only fueled me to work harder. The reward of running my own business and doing what I love has always been worth every minute and now I finally have the chance to focus all of my efforts on SVP and give my clients the best experience possible with my full attention. That thing I used to hear about called a “work-life balance” has finally become attainable! (Sigh of relief)

So many things are a-changing and I can’t wait to see what the upcoming years have in store. 2017 is going to be one heck of a year!
